Who is behind Shekel Guide

An independent publication, edited from Jerusalem, to understand money in Israel without jargon or surprises.

What we do

We explain tax, banking, currency and health insurance in Israel to people who live here, invest here or are moving here, and who do not (yet) read administrative Hebrew. Every guide starts from the official texts (Israel Tax Authority, National Insurance Institute, tax treaties) and turns them into concrete rules, with worked examples.

Our calculators use the current year's schedules. The parameters live in a single, dated file that we update as soon as an official schedule changes. The last verification date is shown at the top of every page.

What we are not

We are not an accounting firm, a law firm or a broker. What we publish is general information: it does not replace advice tailored to your situation. When your case calls for it, we connect you with a partner professional who speaks your language.

How the site is funded

Shekel Guide is free for readers. It is funded by partner professionals (accountants, tax advisors, brokers, insurers) to whom we forward contact requests, and by some links to money transfer services that pay us a commission. Those links do not influence our comparisons: the fees and rates shown are the ones observed, for every provider.
